New front line care worker fund launched by Scottish Care

Scottish Care has established a new care prize designed to reward those who provide palliative and end of life care in care homes, care at home and housing support services.

The Colin McNab Palliative and End of Life Care award was announced last week at the Annual Care at Home & Housing Support Conference in Glasgow by Scottish Care CEO Dr Donald Macaskill, and is supported by funding from Border Caring Services.

The prize will see one individual working within the care home sector and the care at home and / or housing support sector, awarded £2,000 to help fund personal learning and development.

Applications will open on June 1 on the Scottish Care website and close on July 31.

Individuals are asked to submit a Prize Profile describing the palliative and end of life care work they currently undertake.
