Fast-growing Alcedo Care Group has recruited a new manager its recently new office in Lancaster.
Nicki Grain, who has worked in health and social care for 20 years, will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the new office, which opened in November, and its 28-strong team, ensuring the delivery of personal care, support and nursing services to clients across the region.
Commenting on her new role, she said: “I am so passionate about working in the health and social care sector and am really pleased to have joined a company that shares my commitment to caring for others. Alcedo has a wonderful reputation for compassionate client care which I hope to build upon as we develop and grow the Lancaster office, and a superb approach to employee development which I hope will enable me to continue to further my own career over years to come.”
Grain started her career in care at the age of 17 as a kitchen assistant in a nursing home. Since then, she has worked in domiciliary care, on EMI units, and has supported individuals with a mental health diagnosis in supported living settings.
She joined Alcedo in November 2019 as a care ambassador, before being promoted to field care supervisor and care coordinator at the Lancaster branch.
Managing director at Alcedo Care Group, Andy Boardman, said: “Nicki was the obvious choice for this role, she has some great experience which I know will be invaluable to us as we grow this office, but she is also a real people person who is committed to care and this shines through in everything that she does.”
Established in 2017 by Andy and his wife Jo, Alcedo Care continues to expand at pace, with a 500-strong team and offices in Blackpool, Southport, Wigan, Preston and now Lancaster.
