Ashridge Home Care, a provider of live-in and visiting care in Buckinghamshire and the South East, has been named a finalist in the SME National Business Awards 2020.
The provider is in the running for a Positive Impact Award, which recognises businesses that innovate and adapt their services for the good of the wider community.
Commenting on the achievement, Trudi Scrivener, managing director at Ashridge Home Care, said: “This is absolutely brilliant news. Our carers have made so many sacrifices during this pandemic to make sure that the people they care for remain safe and they continue to do so. I am so proud to be part of this amazing team.
“It is brilliant that live-in care is being recognised and celebrated alongside other businesses in UK and all credit must go to our dedicated professional carers who do the best job ever.”
On example of how Ashridge has had a positive impact on the community is when the provider went above and beyond to help a couple during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The wife was the main carer for her husband who was living with dementia, but she had suffered a broken arm. Ashridge helped to redesign the couple’s house to enable them to accommodate a live-in carer who helped the wife rehabilitate her arm whilst also looking after the husband.
The carer lived with them for two months before leaving them in the hands of a visiting carer.
Winners of the SME National Business Awards, which recognise industrious, hardworking and enterprising SMEs nationally, will be announced at a ceremony at Wembley Stadium on December 4.
