Ben Maruthappu co-founded Cera and launched the business in November 2016 to pioneer the use of technology and AI within the sector.
Just four and a half years on, Cera is one of the fastest-growing care businesses in Europe, and a top ten care provider within the UK, providing over 30,000 care visits every day and employing more than 6,000 care staff across 70+ branches.
Cera has already reached a revenue rate in excess of £120 million, as well as being EBITDA positive. It has also won more than 20 care industry awards, including the LangBuisson Rising Star and Disruptive Leader of the Year awards.
Under Ben’s leadership, Cera has grown to have over 130 partnerships with local authorities and the NHS, and has filled more than 6,000 jobs, as well as delivering over seven million care visits throughout the pandemic to date.
Ben is also a co-founder of Join Social Care, the innovative recruitment platform, launched last year, which has already brought over 20,000 new carers into the sector through a partnership with the Department for Health and Social Care. Join Social Care is now working with over 2,500 care providers throughout the UK.
Ben also holds an MBE, which he was awarded for his services to Health and Social Care Technology in 2020.
