Bluebird Care praised by staff for handling of COVID-19 pandemic

Bluebird Care staff have praised their employer for its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic in an anonymous survey.

The independent survey, which generated nearly 1,000 responses across 50 franchises, revealed that 91% of employees trust the home care provider to take the right steps to see them through the crisis.

More than eight in 10 (88%) of respondents say they felt they were informed about the steps the company had taken throughout the crisis.

And 86% said that their approach to work had been changed to enable them to work safely.

Meanwhile, nearly all (89%) of office-based respondents said they felt they had been given the right equipment to effectively work from home.

One care assistant at Bluebird Greenwich said: “Bluebird Care Greenwich is an excellent company that cares about the customers as well as the staff. The management team is kind, supportive and understanding. They do their best to accommodate all situations. It has been a pleasure to work alongside these wonderful individuals while we make such a huge difference to people’s live on a day to day basis.”

Bluebird Care Rochdale and Bluebird Bedford received particularly good feedback from their teams, with 100% of employees across both branches saying they felt informed about the company’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Both teams also agreed that they had enough contact with their managers, and their teams collaborated effectively.

Bluebird Care Rochdale received an overall satisfaction rate of 98% and credits the team for “always going above and beyond” to support their customers.

To celebrate, the branch held a ceremony on Zoom, during which the Mayor of Rochdale presented the team with vouchers to thank them for their hard work.

Thank you to all our team members who took part in the survey – we value all the feedback we have received. We are always looking at different ways we can effectively engage with and reward our employees, who work extremely hard each and every day.

“Covid-19 has been an exceptionally difficult time for everyone. We have had to very quickly adapt our usual way of working and really step up to ensure some of the most vulnerable people in society – our customers – continue to be well looked after, cared for and remain safe throughout this pandemic. We are so incredibly proud of all of our Bluebird Care employees. We are hugely grateful to you – your bravery and heroism continues to amaze us all.”
