Brunelcare, a Bristol-based charity providing housing, care and support for older people, has announced the extension of its Extra Care Housing site in Bishopsworth.

Waverley Gardens will almost double in size with the addition of 62 independent living apartments, 10 of which opened this week.

The remaining apartments, built for the over 55s, will be opened early next year.

They include two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and a level access wet room. Care and support is also available 24/7 and there is an emergency call system on site.

Communal facilities also include a communal lounge, restaurant, shared gardens and a hair salon.

Centre manager Laura Manager said: “We are very excited for the extension of Waverley Gardens and looking forward to welcoming new tenants in early 2020. Out of 62 new apartments we have 10 self-contained flats for sale, it’s a really exciting opportunity. We are looking forward to early 2020 when the build is finally complete.”
