Call for home care providers to take part in research on migrant workers

The University of Kent is calling for care providers to take part in research into the current role of migrant workers in home care in the run up to Brexit.

Researchers plan to interview providers about their experiences of recruiting and employing non-UK nationals and their views on the sector’s current and future needs for future migrant workers.

They also hope to find out how the sustainability of the home care sector might be affected as a result of Brexit and changing immigration policies.

According to Skills for Care, 104,000 of the care sector’s workforce comes from the EU, and a further 130,000 from further overseas.

The interview will last up to 30 minutes and can take place by phone or face-to-face depending on the location of the provider.
