A care and support worker at Belong’s care village in Macclesfield has topped the Amazon best-seller charts with a book about wellbeing practices.
Cath Stock, who works part-time at the village, co-authored the book with Carol-Ann Reid, writing a chapter on the Energy Alignment Method (EAM), a new holistic therapy aimed at getting people in tune with their own energy, to gain clarity on the issues affecting them.
She is one of only 31 people in the world accredited to teach this therapy, following the completion of a 10-month training programme.
Published on World Mental Health Day 2019, the ‘The Warrior Wellbeing Toolkit’ consists of 16 chapters that recount each contributor’s own mental health journey, with all the proceedings to go to the Mental Health Foundation.
Commenting on her work, Stock said: “Who would’ve thought that whilst I was working night shifts at Belong Macclesfield, I would also become a contributor to a best-selling book. It is a great personal achievement for me, and I am also truly proud to be one of only a small number of people in the world who can mentor on EAM practice.
Caroline Ray, general manager at Belong Macclesfield commented: “We congratulate Cath for her successes with the new book and are delighted to have such a talented team member at our village.
“Belong takes mental wellbeing extremely seriously, both for our workforce and customers, and we are always striving to ensure our customers feel comfortable and at home.
“Our admiral nurses provide mental health care and specialist dementia support, and our experience day team provide interactive activities to ensure customers truly feel part of a community.”
