Home care software management company CareLineLive has shared how its technology has helped a provider in Hampshire digitise its processes, support its clients and take the pressure off carers during the pandemic.

Through its partnership with CareLineLive, Verina Daly Care, which provides professional personal home care services in the villages surrounding Hambledon in Hampshire, has become almost paperless, improved communication between staff and families, and streamlined communication with health and social care bodies.

The provider began working with CareLineLive in 2019 after its existing software provider had limited scheduling and care plan documentation capabilities.

Before CareLineLive, carers and agency staff had to manually update folders in the client’s house and a folder in the agency filing cabinet for each client.

Since adopting CareLineLive, its records are updated in real time on the cloud-hosted online platform, which reduces the amount of time it spends on filing and ensures all journals are immediately up to date.

The move to CareLineLive has also helped client families to have better visibility of their loved one’s care.

Families have instantaneous information about their loved ones’ visit schedules alongside seeing when carer visits have been completed and any visit notes. Client preferences for carers are also easily compiled using CareLineLive, which has a feature that allows the intelligent selection of carers that match the client’s needs.

From a safeguarding and policy point of view, CareLineLive said it has also revolutionised the way that health and social care teams are updated at Verina Daly Care.

The provider has seen 100% of safeguarding concerns immediately rectified by using the software. With all client journals, images and medication logged in real-time, all required information is immediately shared with the relevant teams if a safeguarding concern is raised, ensuring that all concerns are appeased.

Verina Daly, managing director and owner, commented: “Even before the pandemic, carers were holding back a tsunami of pressure every day. CareLineLive’s solution has significantly eased this pressure by improving the way we schedule, log information and manage clients’ visits. From small things like carers letting family members know that their loved one will need more milk later that day, to ensuring that policies and compliance are adhered to, CareLineLive has made a huge positive impact on our agency.”

Josh Hough, founder and manging director of CareLineLive, said: “Improving the communication between clients, agencies, carers and governing bodies is critical, and CareLineLive streamlines this process with easy to use technology. With reduced paperwork and simplified scheduling, carers can spend more time with their clients and can ensure that families are kept up to date with their loved one’s care. Verina Daly Care is continuing to advance care with the adoption of technology, and we look forward to continuing this journey with the VDC team.”
