Christies Care has announced the promotion of former police officer and safeguarding expert Charlotte Driver-Young to operations director.

Driver-Young joined the live-in care company, based in Suffolk, in May 2020 to oversee the teams that support clients and carers, before being promoted to registered manager after a period of training.

Commenting on her new role, she said: “It is a great honour to have been given the role of operations director for Christies Care. I very passionate about ensuring that we provide the highest level of service to our clients and carers and cannot wait to lead the operational teams into 2022. Driver-Young previously spent 15 years in the police force, working in organised crime, intelligence, and as a murder investigator, before progressing through to management.

She managed teams in Suffolk, investigating online child abuse, and received a chief constable’s Commendation Award for her leadership skills.

Commenting on her decision to join Christies Care last year, Driver-Young said: “I had heard so many good things about Christies and their reputation in the live-in care sector and I was drawn to the family run business and their values.

“My key focus for Christies has been around service improvement and change management. My passion is people: I love working with our staff to influence and lead them to ensure that we give the best service possible to our clients and carers.”
