National domiciliary care provider Kare Plus is celebrating after receiving an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the CQC for its Coventry and Warwick branch.
The service achieved the top rating for being caring and well-led following an inspection in December, an improvement on its first inspection in June 2017, when it was rated ‘Good’ for all key lines of enquiry.
In its report, the CQC praised the staff for being “exceptionally kind” in their approach, displaying the right values and having “genuinely caring” relationships with the people they supported.
Inspectors also noted that people received care that was “clearly responsive” to their individual needs. They said that staff new people very well and took the time to gain an understanding of how to support them correctly.
Franchise owner Duncan Taylor, who opened the Coventry & Warwick branch four years ago, said his team has worked tirelessly to build an “exceptional” home care service.
“Just 4% of home care companies in England are rated ‘Outstanding,’ so it’s a great boost for our team to get this tremendous accolade,” he added.
“One of the most important aspects of any care business is actually being caring, which I believe is one of the most important factors in our team achieving this rating.”
Darren Guy, director of Regulated Services at Kare Plus was delighted to see the franchise pick up this coveted accolade.
“Kare Plus care should always be exceptional, and at Kare Plus Coventry & Warwick this certainly is the case,” he said.
“I’ve worked with Duncan for a number of years in the Kare Plus network and seeing his business develop the way it has – with a core focus on excellent care – truly embodies what the Kare Plus model stands for.
“We will always support our franchise owners who wish to excel, and Duncan is no exception.”
