Essence brings bespoke telecare solutions to UK market


Essence, a global Internet of Things (IoT) solutions provider, has signed a new partnership with technology-enabled care (TEC) business, Appello, to bring a tailored set of telecare devices to the UK market.

Having produced connected solutions for elderly care for 25 years, Essence has used its knowledge of the market to address the needs of UK Technology Enabled Care (TEC) and independent living sector.

The solution set includes the Care@Home communicator, which allows the service user to get help from anywhere in their home by using their voice, and activity monitoring, which learns the regular behaviour patterns of the service user, alerting caregivers when abnormal patterns occur.

The product suite also features fall detection and outdoor monitoring.

Essence says the timing for the launch coincides with the growing need to upgrade monitoring solutions post COVID-19, having been in development since before the pandemic.
