Essex provider’s app gives peace of mind to family members in isolation

A home care agency based in Essex is offering a free app to help provide peace of mind to family members.

Anglian Care said the Family and Funder app, developed by The Access Group, will enable those who are shielding or in isolation to keep up to date on multiple aspects of their family members’ care.

Charles Cross, chief operating officer at Anglian Care said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer this to family and friends of those we care for with the consent of the correct advocate. By allowing family and funders the ability to access crucial data remotely they are more connected to them and the care we provide, in an isolated climate. Through using care technology solutions we are pleased to add more value to the care we provide.”

The app allows family members and friends to remotely access visit times, see who is visiting, see if and when medication is taken and what tasks are within their care plan.

Additionally, the app enables family members and funders of those under Anglian Care’s care to see what medication their loved one has taken and what they have been eating.

Anglian Care said its transition to e-care plans has been a key pillar of its strategy to digitise its service.

Access Group’s CarePlanning app allows the provider to update care plans remotely and works simultaneously with The Family and Funder app.
