Bluebird Care Camden & Hampstead has announced the appointment of a LGBTQIA+ Lead Champion to help create a “safe haven” in the workplace.
Nadia El-Horch, who is also a care coordinator at the service, will step into the new position this month.
Her role will involve networking and attending events, such as Pride, and gathering community information to ensure staff have access to all services within the borough.
She’ll also support staff with Equality and Diversity training, including new recruits, to help stamp out discrimination in the workplace.
Commenting on the new role, El-Horch said: “LGBTQIA+ people, like many other minorities, face uncertainties and discrimination on a daily basis. I want to make sure that Bluebird Care Camden & Hampstead is a safe and welcoming space where people can thrive, feel safe, and know that their well-being is of utmost importance to us, whether they are clients, care workers, friends, or family.
“I am so excited to have the opportunity to champion LGBTQIA+ equality and challenge explicit and implicit discrimination where ever we see it.”
