Technology will remain a key focus in social care during the year ahead, the CEO of Home Instead UK has said.
Sharing his industry predictions for 2022 with Home Care Insight, Martin Jones said the race to find and deliver the best tech solutions to transform the caregiver and client experience is on.
“This is a huge task and the opportunity to improve lives is massive,” he said.
Jones also predicted that the movement of “professionalising caregiving” will gather pace as leaders work to make care a “sector of choice” by offering meaningful, skilled work that is rewarding.
He added: “How we train, support and value caregivers is a key part of this.”
The Home Instead boss went on to say that meaningful care conversations, where families engage in discussions about future care options and choices, will increase thanks to increased media attention in the social care sector.
And debates around the government’s social care reforms will also continue to bring care into the spotlight, he predicted.
Finally, Jones said Covid will be accepted as something that isn’t going to go away.
“As a result, we have a greater understanding of, and respect for, vaccines and their ability to protect us from infection,” he added.
