Staff at Right at Home High Wycombe and District are celebrating after the service received an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating during its first inspection.
Inspectors praised the provider for “placing people at the heart of the service and its values” and for being “extremely caring”.
The service, which was providing personal care to 26 people at the time of inspection, was rated ‘Outstanding’ for being caring and well-led and ‘Good’ for being safe, responsive and effective.
One service user described how the provider had gone the extra mile to ensure they could attend a family wedding.
“It made me feel absolutely wonderful to see my granddaughter getting married,” they said. “I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t have been able to get there. But they supported me all day at it was marvellous. It made me feel so proud, it was amazing. They are a first-class service”.

Explaining the ‘Outstanding’ rating, Deborah Ivanova, deputy chief inspector for Adult Social Care, said: “People were receiving exceptional care with services being developed and tailored to their needs and at the same time treating people with kindness, compassion and respect.
“Staff spent time getting to know people to build meaningful and valued relationships with them.
“It was clear throughout the inspection, that the staff took pride in their work and went the extra mile for the people they supported. I would like to congratulate the service on attaining an overall rating of Outstanding again.”
