A global equipment specialist has got its sights set on expanding its presence in the home care sector.
Arjo, a supplier of ceiling hoists, medical beds and pressure redistribution mattresses, is looking to partner with distributors and retailers to crack the market.
Chris McConnell, sales and marketing director at Arjo, told our sister title Access & Mobility Professional: The whole industry is pushing towards getting people cared for at home, so the potential for us is really quite big. We haven’t been particularly great at it before so there’s plenty of room for growth.
“We know distributors, or the right distributor, can give us an advantage if we’re working in the home care world so the focus initially is to work with our ceiling hoist range. We are introducing our new ceiling hoist into the dealer network, into our existing dealer network and potential additional distributors. Our aim is to have a bigger presence in the home care market.”
When asked what the ideal retail partner would look like, McConnell said: “They need to be committed to what we’re trying to do with Arjo, to understand and be committed to what we are intending to do in this marketplace. If they have a really big presence in the homecare market and are focused on the homecare market, that would make them a good partner for us.”
Arjo is in the process of reviewing its installation and services training to benefit distributors and is also working with its marketing team to promote its products in the home care sector.
“We have a big marketing team here and the homecare market is something that is on our radar. It’s something we’re present in now and we’re looking at increasing our presence in that. So working with our existing marketing team will be available to all distributors.”
