A duo of carers have said they were “honoured” to accompany their client in marking her 100th birthday during a recent celebration.
Debra and Suzanne from Carefound Home Care in Wilmslow have been supporting Joan to live independently at home for the last two years, and this week they played a major role in helping her celebrate her milestone in style.
HCI has shared this story as part of our Good Care News series, which aims to highlight the important contribution that care workers make to society.
The team was able to make sure Joan was dressed in the morning, with her hair, make-up and nails ready, before she enjoyed a socially-distanced afternoon tea with friends and, of course, her card from the Queen.
Sarah Vickers, recruitment and community manager at Carefound Home Care in Wilmslow, said: “Our team take great pride in being able to help Joan continue to enjoy the comforts of her own home, especially given the challenges presented by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“We are absolutely delighted that she was able to celebrate her 100th birthday safely with friends and family – Happy Birthday Joan and many congratulations on this amazing milestone.”
