A new website has launched to help promote career opportunities and increase employment in the social care sector.
The CareinLincs website, which was announced last week at the Lincolnshire Care Association’s (LinCA) Recruitment and Retention Conference, advertises care and nursing vacancies across the county, and was created with Lincolnshire job-hunters in mind.
Lincolnshire is the first county to launch a dedicated social care recruitment website, in response to the growing need for care workers to support the UK’s ageing population.
The site showcases the many pathways available for those interested in a career in care, whether they want to progress their career or land their first role.
Along with assisting home care providers, care homes and nursing homes in recruiting and retaining quality team members, CareinLincs can also be used to find volunteers, hire apprentices and organise work experience with schools and colleges.
CareinLincs is designed to make finding new staff easier for care providers by handling the recruitment process from start to finish.
Members of LinCA can also sign up for free to the website, which allows providers to find and organise their favourite candidates, helping them to hire those with the right values for a career in care.
Finding and keeping quality candidates is an ongoing battle for the health and social care sector, with a recent report showing staff turnover has risen for the sixth year in a row. According to Skill for Care, there is expected to be a shortfall of 580,000 carers by 2035, unless more is done to recruit and retain quality candidates for the sector.
