A domiciliary care provider based in Aylsham, north Norfolk, is celebrating after being rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC.
Aylsham Homecare, which provides personal care and support for older people, was rated ‘Outstanding’ for three out of five areas of inspection – caring, responsive and well-led.
Registered manager Laura Grand (pictured left), who was praised in the CQC report for demonstrating “exceptional leadership”, said she was delighted with the news.
“It’s such an amazing achievement and we are really proud. We have worked for six years to achieve this and have put a lot of effort in,” she said.
“But, like the inspector said, it is built in us to achieve these things. We do outstanding things every day without even realising it, and we’re always coming up with new ways of thinking and improving the service.”
Service users and their relatives spoke of the provider going “above and beyond” their expectations and said they were encouraged to live their lives as independently as possible.
Staff were praised by inspectors to responding “exceptionally well” to any changes in people’s needs and ensured there was an “open and collaborative approach” to developing people’s care packages.
They were also provided with equal and inclusive opportunities to progress their careers within the service, the report said.
