Stephen Butterworth has been appointed HC-One’s executive director of operations.
Butterworth, who will lead operations across all HC-One’s homes and domiciliary care services, was appointed by James Tugendhat, who has been CEO since September 2020.
He will spearhead the operational direction of the company, working closely with HC-One’s senior management team, its regional teams, and central support team, to support its care services.
Butterworth’s promotion to executive director for operations follows a successful career at HC-One. Since joining in 2012, he has worked in a number of operational and senior positions across the business, leading a number of high-profile transformation projects, as well as the High Impact Projects and Colleague Deployment teams, before being appointed to his most recent role of Managing Director in 2017. In this role, Stephen was responsible for the quality, regulatory compliance and commercial performance of care homes in his portfolio in the North East of England.
Commenting on the new role, he said: “I am delighted to take on this new role as Executive Director for Operations, working alongside James and colleagues across HC-One to best support our homes in delivering the kindest care to our residents.
“I look forward to continuing to support and drive HC-One’s mission to be the first-choice care provider for families, colleagues and commissioners.”
Tugendhat added: “I am delighted to announce Stephen’s appointment as Executive Director for Operations at HC-One.
“Stephen has made a tremendous impact at HC-One during his time with the company and brings great experience to his new role.
“I am very much looking forward to working closely with Stephen, and I have no doubt that Stephen will be instrumental in helping us to build on HC-One’s performance as The Kind Care Company to date and take HC-One from strength to strength.”
