The MD was also a finalist in Director of the Year – Small-Medium Business category, and Regional Director Finalist for Glasgow and West of Scotland.

Headquartered in Kilmarnock, with further offices in Coatbridge, Glasgow and Edinburgh, Laughland has grown her company to be one of the largest care specialists providing home support to vulnerable people across Scotland’s central belt.

During COVID-19, Laughland actively added to her workforce as HRM Homecare continued to deliver its key objectives of providing quality care for those who are most vulnerable.

As a result, the company increased its workforce by more than 20%, and won the Technology and People Award at the Scottish Care Awards.

Commenting on the win, Laughland said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have been named IoD Scotland’s Agility and Resilience Director of the Year, and especially honoured to be its first ever recipient. At HRM Homecare we work very hard to be the best at what we do, so to receive such leadership recognition is humbling.

“This reward is a tribute to the sterling efforts of my staff. We have remained steadfast in our determination to continue to help people who need our care most throughout COVID-19 and that will never waver.

“Working in care at home is highly challenging, but it is also highly rewarding, especially knowing that make a real difference to people’s lives.”
