Home Instead Senior Care’s Cheltenham branch is celebrating after been rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC for the second time running.
In a report published by the regulator, managers were praised for continually reviewing their practices and using the latest technologies and care practices to support people.
Inspectors said staff were “exceptionally caring” and went out of their way to ensure people lived a fulfilled life, taking a balanced approached to enable people to retain their independence.
In one story, inspectors documented how a person who had been bed ridden for some time did not have the confidence to leave their home and had been unable to retain a relationship with their spouse who lived in a care home.
With the support of Home Instead staff the client had achieved their goal of spending time with their spouse and now visited them in the care home.
Commenting on the report, owner of the Cheltenham branch Amanda Hamer said: “To read a collection of so many lovely stories about our CAREGivers, and beautiful comments shared by our clients and their families is very moving. I know that my team does outstanding work. I am very pleased to have it officially confirmed for a second time.”
“When I read that the health care professionals we work with were ‘overwhelmingly positive’ about the service we provide I felt very proud. As the report says, people are at the heart of what we do. We will continue to stay true to our Home Instead values and to provide the highest standard of care to the older people in our community.”
