Home Instead Senior Care’s 200th UK office has officially opened in Dorchester, creating 50 new jobs.
Company directors came together to celebrate the launch last month, and now the office on High West Street has started serving people in the area and the surrounding towns and villages, including Wymouth and Portland.
Local owner Romesh Dharmasingham has been involved in the care industry for many years as his mother owned a residential care business in West Sussex.
Following her passing over 10 years ago, Dharmasingham left his career in the financial services industry to take over and run the business.
“I felt a strong urge to build on my mother’s success in the care sector and make a difference to people’s lives as she had done for me,” he said.
“In this role, and over time, I developed a strong understanding of the nature of care operations and what it takes to run a successful business addressing the needs of our clients.”
Dharmasingham exited the care home business a few years ago to concentrate on care services in the community.
“I have a strong belief that there is no place like to home when it comes to making our clients the most comfortable they can be. I want to enable them to experience the very best service and we believe that only care good enough for our own loved ones is good enough for our clients,” he said.
The owner will be supported by care manager, Catherine Pearce, a local Dorchester resident who has more than 10 years’ experience working in the care sector.
Pearce said: “I believe that caregivers are the most important people within our team as they are at the frontline of our service and ensure our clients receive the best quality personalised service.”
