Home Instead Senior Care in Devon has become the first care provider in the South West to achieve a perfect score in a CQC inspection.
The care provider, based in Budleigh Salterton, was deemed outstanding in all five categories (Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led) during the inspection in October and received its second overall outstanding rating.
Inspectors reported that Home Instead clients were treated with “respect and dignity” and staff were recognised as focusing on safety and being “proactive in reducing risk”.
“I am delighted to be able to congratulate Home Instead Senior Care for another overall outstanding rating,” said Debbie Westhead, interim chief inspector of Adult Social Care.
“The quality of care which our inspectors found here was exceptional and I am very pleased that we can celebrate the service’s achievements.”
Mark and Vanessa McGlade, owners of the business, said they were “thrilled” with the outcome of the inspection.
“People put their trust in us and we take that very seriously. We are all humbled by the comments in the report and delighted to be deemed outstanding in all five categories,” said Mark.
Vanessa added, “This would not be possible without the amazing and empathetic care delivered by our wonderful team of CAREGivers who are supported by an enthusiastic and diligent office team. Mark and I thank them all and are grateful to be surrounded by such fabulous people.”
Managing director of Home Instead Senior Care, Martin Jones, said: “It’s wonderful to hear just how full of praise everyone is for the work that Vanessa, Mark and their team are doing in Exeter and East Devon.
“To have attained a second outstanding rating and to achieve that in all five categories, is testament indeed to the hard work and dedication they have shown in caring for older people and in making such a difference to their lives.”
