Inaugural Celebrating Homecare event to take place this month

Celebrating Homecare

UKHCA has announced the launch of the inaugural Celebrating Homecare event, due to take place this month.

The organisation has worked in conjunction with the Care Workers’ Charity to develop the initiative, which will celebrate the difference home care makes to people’s lives every day.

The event, set to take place on September 22, is also being supported by care associations and providers across the UK, including Scottish Care, Care Forum Wales, Bluebird Care and Grosvenor Health and Social Care.

This year, with the popularity of programmes such as The Great British Sewing Bee, Repair Shop and Bake Off, the initiative will celebrate the many things care workers and their clients make or create at home, and the relationships they develop by doing so.

Organisers are encouraging care workers and their clients to make something together, whether it’s a cake, piece of knitting or TikTok video, then share their creations on social media from September 13 with the hashtag #madewithcare.

Providers may also wish to organise a celebratory event with their team, clients and key contacts.
