Since joining the charity in March 2020, Karolina Gerlich has had a huge impact; increasing the CWC’s efficiency, platform and support giving capacity.
In the first three months leading the charity, she facilitated fundraising drives to raise over £2 million – previously unheard of at the charity whose 2019 revenue only hit over £200k.
She has introduced a number of grants streams that have enabled social care workers to get the financial and emotional support they need – namely the Covid-19 Emergency Grant, and the newly launched Mental Health Support Programme.
She has also made numerous TV appearances, as well as speaking on many radio programmes, and in the printed press, constantly advocating for care workers and what more can be done to support them.
Karolina’s impact has been immense. In spite of contending with challenging remote-working conditions and a pandemic, she continues to achieve excellence.
Her commitment to supporting and advocating for care workers is unwavering. She is fiercely proud to represent the social care workforce, and is ambitious for the charity’s future.
Karolina embodies the mission that no care worker should face hardship alone. There is no better advocate for the sector, and The Care Workers’ Charity is proud to have her at the helm.
