A major financial services company has announced the launch of a new business that will help people find and fund their care.
Legal & General, headquartered in London, has strengthened its Retail Retirement arm with the launch of Living Solutions, which will commence operations next month.
The move follows Legal & General’s £6 million investment in Care Sourcer, a comparison and matching site for elderly care.
Care Sourcer’s pilot with Gloucester NHS Trust last year found that better care matching technology can address nearly half (47%) of delayed discharge cases by matching people with care providers within 48 hours.
Steve Ellis (pictured), the former chief executive of Legal & General Home Finance, will take the reins of Living Solutions in April.
He has joined the board of Care Sourcer and will work with the existing executive team, lending his expertise in scale and disruption.
“Leading Legal & General Home Finance since inception has been a real privilege – it is well positioned for the future. Legal & General deploys our financial strength positively to deliver exceptional value to customers, shareholders and broader society. I am looking forward to the part we can play in resolving the issues in UK care funding and provision,” Ellis said.
