Lynn Laughland, managing director of HRM Homecare Services, has been honoured at Scottish Care’s National Care At Home & Housing Support Awards with a special award recognising her significant contribution to the care sector.
Lynn, who has been at the helm of the Kilmarnock-headquartered company for nearly three decades, has helped HRM Homecare grow into one of the largest care specialists in the country.
The Strategic Contribution Award recognised Lynn’s leadership and significant contribution to the advancement of the care and support of older people.
For more than 28 years, Lynn’s leadership has led HRM Homecare to provide higher-quality care support and critical care services for those most in need.
During the pandemic, Lynn grew the company’s workforce by 20% and continued to provide guidance and support to those in involved in the industry.
Now the company supports 800 service users, provides more than 10,000 hours of support per week, and positively promotes the independence of older people, families, and adults with disabilities to continue to live well at home.
Lynn said: “For 28 years I have worked extremely hard to make HRM Homecare the best at what we do. To receive such recognition of these efforts from my peers is very humbling.”
Donald Macaskill, Chief Executive of Scottish Care, said: “Lynn’s award is hugely well deserved. She has been a voice of knowledge, understanding and reason not only for almost 30 years but also during the recent challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As we come out the shadows of the pandemic, she has turned her focus to beginning the process of creating a future for the sector that is different. In doing so, she is helping the care industry start to shape a new tomorrow with our own hands, something that is vital to all our futures.”
