Domiciliary care provider Mears Group has launched a new toolkit to help its employees and customers to better support people living with dementia.
The Become a Dementia Friend toolkit aims to raise awareness and transform the way people think and talk about dementia, providing information on how best to support someone with the condition, as well as training others to do so.
Tracey Lyth, group head of Customer Success said: “At the heart of Mears lies a strong sense of responsibility towards improving people’s lives.
“We are committed to achieving this by ensuring that everyone we work with creates greater value and wider benefits from an integrated social value approach and our ‘Become a Dementia Friend’ toolkit shows how we are putting this into practice.”
Mears provides home care for older and disabled people of all ages, including people with complex conditions, or those needing a little extra help at home.
