MPs ‘heartened’ by home care services’ vaccination progress

COVID Vaccination Harrogate

MPs have recognised two home care services in Cheshire and Yorkshire for their work in supporting clients and staff to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Tatton MP Esther McVey praised the team at Carefound Home Care in Cheshire, where 91% of its staff and 100% of its clients have received the vaccine.

She said: “I am delighted all clients of Carefound Home Care have had at least one dose of the vaccine and that the company are on track for vaccinating all its staff.”

“I know from meeting with staff at the organisation they are committed to delivering first class care across Tatton and Cheshire so it came as no surprise to hear they are doing so well in protecting their staff and clients.”

“The vaccine programme is the way out of this pandemic and it is progressing at speed and I hope that continues so we can see our loved ones once more.”

Meanwhile, Carefound Home Care’s branch in Harrogate has also been working hard to ensure the roll out of vaccines.

As a result, 97% of care staff and 100% of clients in Yorkshire have had the jab.

Recognising this work, Andrew Jones, MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, said: “Vaccination is our way out of the pandemic and it is so heartening to see that staff at Carefound Home Care have embraced that message. More than anyone, staff working in the care sector know just how much isolation and Covid have affected the elderly and their relatives. It has been, and is still, a difficult time and we have seen too many casualties of this pandemic.

“Every shot in the arm, particularly among the caring professions and the vulnerable, helps us inch nearer to the normality we all crave. So it is a big thank you from all of us to the Carefound Home Care team and to the NHS staff and volunteers who support the vaccination programme.”
