A National Social Care Data Portal has been launched to bring together data from social care services operating in Wales.
The portal, introduced by Social Care Wales, aims to help local authorities, regional partnership boards and others understand the sector, and provide an evidence base for decision making.
Lisa Trigg, assistant director of Research, Data and Intelligence, said: “The new portal includes a range of thematic dashboards on specific topics including children who are looked after, workforce, dementia, and care and support at home. These are intended to help users interrogate and understand the data.
“We want to engage with local authorities and other key stakeholders to fully understand their future data needs. We are establishing a virtual reference group who will play a key role in the continued development of the data portal.”
The portal has a ‘core set’ of the most useful data and, in the future, it is expected to signpost to other, more detailed, sources of information.
