The National Care Forum (NCF) has announced the launch of a dedicated Housing with Care Forum.
The new group will explore operational and policy issues, and offer support and insight to those providing housing with care services.
The launch follows recent analysis that showed that over half of NCF’s members offer some form of housing with care support for older people, people with learning disabilities and those with mental health problems.
Maxine Espley (pictured), executive director of Health, Social Care and Support at GreenSquareAccord, and Rachael Byrne, executive director of New Models of Care at Home Group, will co-chair this forum.
Byrne said: “The role of housing is fundamental to good care; whether that is supporting patients to return home from hospital, providing long-term homes in the community with care provided, offering an alternative to a hospital placement, the list goes on. Launching a new housing and care forum where we can learn and develop solutions is so important post COVID. I am pleased to be co-chairing the Housing and Care Forum for NCF, with Maxine.”
NCF policy director, Liz Jones commented: “The NCF is delighted to be launching our eighth dedicated Forum, designed specifically to support our members who offer a wide range of housing with care services. This forum offers an opportunity for these members to network and solve problems together, hear from a range of specialist speakers on key operational and policy issues whilst getting access to the latest news on how the NCF is working to support and represent them.”
The Housing with Care Forum’s first session will be held on November 4 at 11:00am -12:30pm.
