Yorkshire Care Equipment has expanded its Raizer fall assistance device range with the launch of its Raizer M manual lifting chair that can be used at home.
The Raizer lifting chair range, which is operated by a single carer, is designed to lift a person back to their feet in under five minutes after suffering a fall.
The Raizer M, which is the first manual lifting chair, is the third addition to the range and follows the Raizer and Raizer II electronic devices.
Following the successful roll-out of Raizer and Raizer II to multi-use environments, such as care homes, the Raizer M has been designed for domestic use.
George Hulbert, Sales Director at Yorkshire Care Equipment, said: “We were getting requests for a stripped back, more affordable option for domestic use.
“Older couples didn’t want to call an ambulance and go into hospital if they fell but were uninjured. Adult children wanted peace of mind for their parents. That’s exactly what Raizer M offers. It has the same chair design, without the electronic components. There’s still no physical lifting required and, as an added bonus, it never needs charging. Even if Raizer M goes unused for months, it’s ready immediately when you need it.”
Falls are the largest cause of emergency hospital admissions in older people and one in three people aged 65+ fall at least once a year. Continuing to improve fall assistance devices is key for protecting older people and reducing the cost of falls on the healthcare service.
