Ravi Bains is the longest serving chief executive officer and founder working in the home care sector in the UK. He has had an exceptional year leading his organisation, which ranks in the nation’s top three home care providers.
During a challenging 12 months for social care, Ravi has led his team to remain resilient and stay safe, continuing to deliver exceptional care and offering rewarding careers and employment opportunities.
Over the last 22 years, Ravi has employed approximately 4,000 people across 67 offices nationwide. He has a deep understanding of the needs of the market as a social care entrepreneur, and has a proven track record of delivering the highest quality services possible, which is demonstrated in the combined annual turnover of his business, which is just under £100 million.
Ravi takes his role as a leader, and the example he wants to set, extremely seriously. He is passionate about giving back to the communities in which he serves through philanthropy and dedicating time to provide mentorship to young people at the start of their careers.
Ravi is also outspoken on the need to address inequality in the social care sector, writing articles on lack of representation of ethnic minority groups in leadership positions in care and calling for mandatory reporting on diversity. He is proud to champion the BME community in sectoral decision making settings, often raising issues that colleagues from minority ethnic backgrounds bring to him, which would otherwise be overlooked.
Most recently, Ravi has also been appointed as a government adviser on social care, where he will be leading on, and providing invaluable contribution to, official government reports and consultations on the future of social care in the UK.
