A digital recruitment platform has launched a new campaign to hire 40,000 carers into the social care sector in the next months.
Join Social Care, which launched independently earlier this year, after cutting ties with the government, has already introduced 60,000 people into the care sector.
As part of the jobs drive, the company has launched new Job Search and Provider Search tools.
The aim is to increase the ability for care providers to promote job vacancies to the growing number of candidates and for job hunters to connect with local providers.
Martin Warnes, director of Join Social Care, commented: “It is being widely reported week that there are more care vacancies now than pre-pandemic, and not enough applicants to fill them. At Join Social Care, we are stepping up and launching a new jobs drive to hire 40,000 new carers in the next six months – at a time when it is needed most.
“To be clear, hiring into social care has been challenging for many years which is why we have built a recruitment platform that focuses solely on the care sector. As a result, we are seeing growing numbers of candidates joining and they are actively engaging with job openings and providers across the platform. New roles are being advertised every day, and we’re seeing more applicants than advertisements which shows that there are roles and there are people out there looking for these roles.”
Join Social Care launched with the aim of recruiting 100,000 new carers into the sector. The platform had previously partnered with the Department of Health and Social Care to support the nationwide recruitment of carers in response to the pandemic.
The company is used by national organisations such as Cera, Bluebird Care and Prestige Nursing, as well as thousands of local and regional care homes and home care providers.
