Respectful Care Nottingham South has announced the launch of a ‘free socials’ initiative, which will see the business treat clients to an excursion of their choice.
The home care provider has launched the initiative to help clients socialise and deliver fun experiences post-lockdown.
Each month, the business will treat one lucky service user, chosen at random, to a two-hour excursion of their choice.
One of the recipients of a social excursion was client Audrey, who was surprised with a trip to Beeston by her carer.
A fan of the area – but not having been able to visit for many years – Audrey said she was over the moon to return and celebrated the occasion with a cup of coffee at one of her favourite cafes.
The excursion received glowing feedback from Audrey’s daughter, Julie, who said: ‘I am so thankful to the staff at Respectful Care Nottingham South for mums recent visit to Beeston. She was full of beans afterwards and remembered going out and having coffee, which is great. The trip has certainly done her some good, so I am very grateful.”
Discussing the success of the initiative so far, Hayley Clayton, staff team leader at Respectful Care Nottingham South, said: “We are delighted to announce our new ‘free socials’ initiative, which we believe will greatly improve the overall physical and mental wellbeing of our clients.”
“Many of our clients are still feeling the effects of social isolation caused by the pandemic. We hope that this will be particularly beneficial to them, providing the opportunity to venture outdoors and experience something exciting and new,” Hayley continued.
Clayton continued: “As an ongoing monthly initiative, we hope to provide as many residents as possible with the experience of a social excursion. We look forward to treating our clients and seeing the positive impact this initiative has on their overall health and wellbeing in the long-term.”
