National home care provider Right at Home has announced the winners of its annual Celebration Awards, which recognise the achievements of caregivers and registered managers.
The awards took place last week, on the second day of the annual Right at Home conference, to celebrate the work of local offices and staff who go the extra mile for their clients.
Kayleigh Fraser from Right at Home Nottingham beat off competition to collect the award for Registered Manager of the Year whilst Sandra Coelho from Right at Home Welwyn, Hatfield & St Albans scooped the CareGiver of the Year Award.
Fraser joined Right at Home in July 2015 and was promoted to Registered Manager in January 2018. She was applauded by the provider for being ‘instrumental’ in supporting Christopher Tansley, the owner of the Nottingham branch, in growing the business and achieving an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating earlier this year.
CareGiver of the Year, Coelho, joined Right at Home in May 2018 and has more than 18 years’ experience working in care.
She was praised by one client, who said: “What can I possibly say about Sandra? There are not enough words in the English language to do justice for this wonderful lady. Sandra brings with her a very human aspect to caregiving that is very often missing with many care providers. Her standard of care is second to none and I truly believe this is more of a vocation than a job.”
The winners were chosen by a panel of judges comprised of Andy Brattesani, head of Franchising at HSBC; Pip Wilkins, CEO at the bfa; Right at Home non-executive director, Suzie McCafferty; and Paul Clegg, managing director at Coconut Creatives.
Speaking on the evening of the awards, Right at Home CEO, Ken Deary, said: “Sandra and Kayleigh are great examples of upholding the Right at Home values and we are very proud to have them as part of the network – a massive well done to both of them.
“We often read in the media about people’s negative experiences of care, so it’s important we recognise and celebrate the stars of the sector, who work tirelessly to really improve quality of life and support our Clients to achieve their personal goals.”
