Volunteer group Championing Social Care has teamed up with TAP, the social thanking platform, to highlight the work of the nation’s 1.6 million care workers through its nationwide campaign, Sparkle for Social Care.
The campaign was launched in 2020 at the height of the pandemic to increase the recognition of social care, so that frontline workers feel valued and receive the level of appreciation they deserve.
And throughout this month, Championing Social Care is partnering with TAP (Thank and Praise) to elevate the initiative on social media using the hashtag #SparkleForSocialCare and to encourage people to show their appreciation for care workers by posting messages of support on the TAP platform.
Championing Social Care director Rebecca Woolley said: “Our amazing care workers provide those they look after with a better quality of life every single day. Now is the ideal time to celebrate their contribution to society.”
TAP director James McLoughlin commented: “TAP’s digital thanking platform allows people to share messages of appreciation with care workers; it’s a simple thing to do but it can make a massive difference to how they feel.”
