A Scottish home care provider is set to host a star-studded virtual awards ceremony to recognise its staff for their hard work over the last year.
U Homecare, based in East Lothian, will hold its inaugural awards ceremony digitally this year, with staff invited to enjoy the festivities from their own homes on December 22.
Organisers have secured appearances from famous faces including Strictly Come Dancing stars Shirley Ballas and Joe McFadden, who will be present awards to members of staff worthy of a ‘ten out of ten’ scoring.
Scots singer Nicole Simpson, who shot to fame after her cover of a track from The Greatest Showman went viral, will also be handing out an award to a lucky winner, and be performing two songs for the U Homecare team.
As part of the ceremony, staff members will be invited to take part in a virtual cocktail making session, with bespoke tipples such as the ‘U-Tini’ on the menu. Performances will also be given by a local pipe band and a DJ who will be playing a selection of hits throughout the evening.
Gavin Bryce, founder and director of U Homecare, said: “I’m thoroughly looking forward to our first ever staff awards ceremony, and while we’d love to be celebrating together in-person, we’ve pulled out all the stops to make the virtual event incredibly special.
“This has been a difficult year, but the U Homecare team has really come together and worked extremely hard to overcome challenges and provide a fantastic service to our clients.
“I think it’s important for businesses to adapt in order to keep staff members motivated after the challenges 2020 has thrown our way, and hopefully this event will demonstrate how much we appreciate the team’s hard work, and spread some joy and positivity.”
U Homecare employs over 50 people across East Lothian, providing care and support for elderly people in their own homes.
