Webinar to take place on connecting care workers with management during the COVID-19 crisis

A retirement village operator based in Cambridgeshire is hosting a webinar this Friday on sustaining colleague engagement during the pandemic and beyond.

The webinar, sponsored by mobile communications platform Yapster, will focus on how just days prior to the initial escalation of COVID-19, Askham Village Community launched an initiative to connect frontline cares to each other and company leaders.

At every level, the team at Askham are now pioneering the practise of ‘social leadership’, using digital tools to influence colleagues at work, in the care sector.

Aliyyah-Begum Nasser, operations director for Askham Village Community, explained: “80% of care workers do not have a business email address, relying instead on communication cascades and staff-room posters for company information.

“That was excusable before COVID-19, but as leaders today we need to give teams more clarity, at greater speed, than BBC News. We’ve made it our business at Askham to take on that digital challenge.”

The COVID-19 & Carer Communications webinar will take place on Friday at 11:30am. It will be available on demand after the 15th for those who register.
