The winners of the 2020 Home Care Awards have been announced, with Ashridge Home Care and Home Instead Senior Care picking up the biggest accolades.

The awards ceremony was due to take place in Birmingham yesterday, but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, the organiser, Stratford Projects, has taken the decision to announce the winners via Home Care Insight and on its website, and will send out the winner and high commendation trophies in the coming weeks.

Ashridge Home Care, which provides live-in and hourly care in Buckinghamshire and the South East, has scooped two awards, including Outstanding Individual, which went to founder Trudi Scrivener.

She said the win was “truly great news” amidst a “challenging time” for everyone working in frontline services.

“Receiving the news that I’ve won Outstanding Individual Award is incredible. Running a busy Home Care Business has its challenges, especially at the present time,” she added.

“My focus is always about making sure our clients have a good day, everything I do in my business is about achieving this. It’s our carers that deserve the limelight, all I do is make sure that they feel valued and recognised for the incredible work they do. I never underestimate the important role they have.”

Home Instead Senior Care has been named the winner three Home Care Awards, including Outstanding Home Care Provider and End of Life Expertise, while the Innovative Technology Expertise award went to Cera Care.

Home Instead UK CEO Martin Jones said: “During this time of unprecedented uncertainty and concern it is certainly lovely to receive some good news. At this time when our focus is absolutely on the health and wellbeing of our teams, CAREGivers and clients we are humbled to have won the Grand Prix for Best Home Care Agency.

“It is a real shame, but absolutely right, that the awards ceremony had to be cancelled. Our thoughts are with the whole sector at this difficult time.”

The finalists of the 2020 Home Care Awards were announced in January, with most submitting multiple entries.
