York home care provider Riccall rounds out regional service offering

The co-owners of a North Yorkshire home care business have expanded their offering by snapping up two residential care homes in the Selby area.

Husband and wife team, Adam and Helen Thompson, who run domiciliary care business Riccall Care Ltd, have purchased the Abbey Lea and Westwood residential care homes.

The business will operate as HCPH Ltd out of York’s Escrick Business Park, where Riccall is located.

The pair were able to secure the deal following financing from Barclays after impressing the bank with their growth plans and business model.

Mr Thompson said: “We are very excited to be expanding our vision of providing an exceptional, holistic care that caters to all of our client’s needs. Our priority is improving the quality of life for those who choose to reside at home and now also in our residential care.

“Maintaining their privacy, dignity and ability to manage their own lives, the new care homes will enable us to support more families with the care of their loved ones and it’s fantastic that Barclays has been able to support us on our growth journey.”

The combined group will employ more than 200 staff and provide a total care offering, with HCPH providing residential care services and Riccall providing private and local authority home care services to individuals in the region.
